O echipa alcătuită din cei mai buni ingineri specializati pe reconstruirea avioanelor de epocade de la  Northrop Grumman, a  re-creat  ”avionul stealth al lui Hitler”, capabil să ramâna nedetectat de  radar în al doilea război mondial  şi a stabilit că, avionul nazist ar fi fost cu adevărat invizibil  la radar.

Specialiștii  au reusit sa reproducă fidel avionul  secret al nazistilor, Horten 2-29,a carui productie in masa a fost începută prea tarziu, pentru ca  razboiul aerian să mai poata fi câștigat de Germania.

Horten 2-29 a fost ținut secret de Aliati pana in zilele noastre, acesta fiind cea mai puternica arma dezvoltata in cea de-a doua Conflagratie Mondiala. Numerosi experti sunt de parere ca avionul de razboi era atat de avansat si futurist incat daca ar fi fost construit in serie, istoria Terrei ar fi aratat astazi altfel decat o stim.

 Pentru realizarea unei copii perfecte, echipei de experti i s-a pus la dispozitie singurul avion Horten 2-29 existent in prezent in lume si detinut timp de 50 de ani intr-o baza secreta a armatei americane. Aripile avionului Ho 2-29 seamana suspect de mult cu cele ale bombardienrului american B-2. Alcatuit in mare parte din lemn, avionul invizibil al nazistilor avea o viteza maxima  de 970 km./h. Armele sale constau in doua bombe de 500 kilograme fiecare, si patru tunuri automate de 30 mm. Primul Ho 2-29 a zburat cu succes in ajunul Craciunului anului 1944, Lufftwaffen-ul neputandu-se folosi de aceasta arma revolutionara.

 Conform lui Tom Dobrenz, un expert antiradar din cadrul Northro Grumman, design-ul avionului favorit al lui Hitler prezinta avantaje majore chiar si pentru radarele militare din zilele noastre. Echipa de ingineri germani care l-a proiectat detinea de asemenea informatii capitale pentru producerea unui avion de vanatoare care sa se strecoare in teritoriul inamic neobservat de radare.

Pe scurt, Horten 2-29 a fost primul avion din lume destinat sa fie un vanator  invizibil de succes in lupta aeriana.

Peste cateva luni, in SUA,va fi lansat Google tv.,o inovatie revolutionara care  va permite utilizatorilor sa vada filme pe Youtube pe ecranul televizorului si sa  intre pe Facebook.

Pana in prezent au existat  doar realizari  limitate in incercarea de a face fuziunea intre  televiziune si internet.

Acum, Google, impreuna cu companiile Sony, Logitech si Intel, au gasit, in sfarsit solutia,iar aceasta se numeste  Google TV.

Reusita a fost deja numita „cea mai mare inovatie in televiziune, de la inventarea televizorului  color”.

Livrat impreuna cu o telecomanda speciala si o tastatura wireless, Google TV va permite utilizatorilor sa vizioneze filme transmise de retelele de televiziune si sa navigheze pe net folosind unul si acelasi ecran  si sa treaca de la o activitate la alta printr-o simpla apasare pe butonul telecomenzii.

 

‘Biggest upgrade since colour’: Google unveils the TV that also lets you surf the net

A television that allows users to switch between watching films and surfing the net has been unveiled by Google.

The innovation has been called ‘the biggest improvement to television since colour’.

GoogleTV will allow customers to access Facebook and watch films on YouTube in the comfort of their living rooms.

Competitors have had limited success trying to merge the internet and TV in the past.

But Google, together with Sony and electronics firms Logitech and Intel, seem to have cracked it, creating ‘companion boxes’ and remote controllers that allow users to switch between the two at the flick of a switch. A special wireless keyboard will also be provided.

Consumers with HDTV sets will be able to plug into the technology simply by buying a set-top box.

The TV is expected to go on sale in the U.S. this autumn before arriving in Britain next year. The price has not yet been fixed.

The search engine company demonstrated the software at a conference in San Francisco in front of thousands of software developers.

At a press conference after the launch, Sir Howard Stringer, chief executive of Sony, said that Google TV was ‘a very big deal’.

Intel CEO Paul Otellini predicted the effort will be ‘the biggest improvement to television since colour’.

Google project senior product manager Rishi Chandra said: ‘Video should be consumed on the biggest, best and brightest screen in the house. And that’s a TV. It’s not a PC or a phone or anything else in between.

‘Our goal is to make the same impact on television as the smart phone has had on the mobile phone market.’

Research into consumer habits shows increasing numbers of people go online while watching TV but companies have as of yet failed to enable people easily to do both at once using one screen.

Competitors Apple and Yahoo! have both tried but without much success. Some TVs on the market currently offer access to the internet through set-top boxes via cable or satellite – but with a limited choice of sites.

Yahoo!’s Connected TV platform allows access to certain websites such as eBay and Facebook but it has not broken into the mainstream.

New York City police are using iris-scanning machines to determine the identities of criminal suspects. Police say the devices help ensure that suspects don’t assume false identities, but civil rights groups worry the machines could be invasive of privacy.

Poliţia din New York City foloseste dispozitive pentru scanarea irisului pentru a identificarea suspectilor.Poliţia declară că dispozitivele vor da siguranta că suspecţii nu îşi asumă identităţi false, insa grupurile pentru drepturile civile acuza ca aceste dispozitive ar putea fi utilizate in scopul invadarii  intimitatii cetatenilor.

Autoritatile din New York City si-au dezvaluit noua tehnologia de scanare oculara din dotare, creata special pentru a facilita depistarea infractorilor care isi asuma identitati false.

Poliţia din New York City a început folosirea acestor instrumente pentru a scana irisi de prizonieri pentru prima data luni, aceasta actiune fiind  parte a unor măsuri de siguranţă  menite să dea certitudinea  că persoanele suspectate care apar în faţa judecătorilor nu sunt identificate greşit.

Politia newyorkeza a decis sa demareze procesul de scanare a ochilor suspectilor, dupa ce doi detinuti acuzati de faradelegi grave au reusit sa scape din custodia fortelor de ordinefolosind numele unor suspecti acuzati de infractiuni minore.

Prin urmare, cel putin in Manhattan, clasicelor fotografieri si amprentari ale detinutilor li se va adauga si un proces de citire a irisului, efectuat cu ajutorul unui dispozitiv asemanator celor din laboratoarele oftalmologice.

Astfel, anterior infatisarii intr-o curte de judecata, suspectii retinuti vor fi supusi analizei oculare cu un cititor special (si mobil), capabil sa verifice identitatea unor persoaneprin compararea tiparelor unice ale modelului cromatic ocular cu fotografiile de inalta rezolutie obtinute in urma examinarilor precedente si stocate intr-o baza de date.

Oficialii din Politie sustin ca programul de 500.000 de dolari – ce va fi extins in mai multe regiuni din New York pana la sfarsitul anului – este o metoda eficienta de a preveni inselarea sistemului de catre infractorii potential periculosi.

Totusi, „cainii de paza” ai drepturilor civile acuza faptul ca aceste dispozitive ultramoderne de scanare oculara ameninta intimitatea cetatenilor de buna credina; mai ales ca, sustin aceiasi indivizi, noua tehnologie nu s-a dovedit cu adevarat necesara, eficienta din punct de vedere al costurilor, sau macar de incredere in identificarea suspectilor.

New York Cops Unveil Sci-Fi-Style Iris-Scanning Technology

(Nov. 16) – In Manhattan, police reports are becoming a little bit more like „Minority Report.”

TheNYPD unveiled iris-scanning technology on Monday designed to prevent criminal suspects from assuming false identities.

Authorities decided to start photographing suspects’ eyes after two detainees facing serious charges were able to escape custody during arraignment by using the names of suspects facing minor charges,The New York Times reports.

So now, alongside the standard mug shots and fingerprints taken after arrest, some Manhattan detainees will peer into a device that looks something like „an ophthalmologist’s eye machine,” according to The Wall Street Journal.Before facing a judge, suspects will gaze into the hand-held scanner, which is intended to double-check their identities by using high-resolution photographs to match unique patterns found in the colored parts of their eyes with images taken during an earlier examination.

Police officials say the $500,000 program – which will be extended to New York City’s other boroughs before the end of the year – is a way to keep potentially dangerous suspects from beating the system. But civil rights watchdogs say the sci-fi-style eye-scanning devices could strip New Yorkers of their privacy.

Donna Lieberman, executive director of the New York  Civil Liberties Union, says police haven’t proved that the eye scanners are necessary, cost-effective or reliable in properly identifying suspects.

„Whenever the police start collecting personal information and start putting it in a database, we become concerned,” she told the press.
