Multi cercetatori cred ca studierea fenomenului “legaturii cuantice” le va oferi, curand, posibilitatea unei teleportarii instantanee a unui obiect oriunde in Univers.
Nu este vorba tocmai despre versiunea de teleportare prezentata in filmul stiintifico-fantastic “Star Trek”, in care un obiect dispare si apoi reapare intr-o alta locatie. Mai degraba, fenomenul se rezuma la “imperecherea” a doi atomi diferiti, astfel incat unul dintre ei sa preia proprietatile celuilalt.
“Potrivit teoriei cuantice, totul vibreaza. Atunci cand doi electroni sunt amplasati unul in apropierea celuilalt, ei vibreaza la unison. Atunci cand sunt separati, incep focurile de artificii”, declara fizicianul Michio Kaku, invitat frecvent al emisiunilor despre Stiinta difuzate de Discovery Channel.
Este si momentul in care legatura cuantica – descrisa uneori si ca “teleportare” – incepe. “Un cordon ombilical” invizibil incepe sa lege cei doi electroni. Si pot fi separati, apoi, dupa voie, de o distanta fie ea si cat o galaxie, fara ca aceasta legatura sa se intrerupa. Atunci, daca intr-unul dintre electroni este generata vibratia, cumva, la capatul celalalt al galaxiei, celalalt electron stie exact ce face omologul sau”, sustine acelasi Kaku.
Acest proces se intampla chiar mai repede decat cu viteza luminii, spun fizicienii. Legatura cuantica nu este o idee noua – Einstein a facut candva o faimoasa referire la ea, numind-o “actiune bizara la distanta” – dar cercetatorii nu au reusit decat acum 30 de ani sa observe pentru prima oara procesul.

Într-un laborator subsolul Quantum mixt Institute de la Universitatea din Maryland ,omul de ştiinţă Christopher Monroe a reuşit să “ imperecheze ” doi atomi care comunica intre ei ,la aproximativ un metru distanţă unul de celălalt .
Este un drum lung pana la o reusita a teleportarii unei fiintae vii . Marea problema care se pune este aceea că ” fiinta teleportata trebuie să fie distrusa pentru a putea ajunge de cealalta parte . Deci, dacă a fost distrusa prin teleportare , atunci cine este persoana ajunsa dincolo? Ei au aceeaşi memorie , spun aceleasi glume , totul e acelasi , cu excepţia faptului ca originalul a fost distrus în procesul teleportarii “.

Nu mai este nici un secret faptul că China incepe sa depaseasca America şi Occidentul , în numeroase domenii dar ştiril e exacte despre ce se intampla acolo sunt adesea limitate. Săptămâna trecută in telegramele secrete provenite de la ambasada americana din Beijing Wikileaks, a aruncat o lumină privind paşii pe oamenii de stiinta chinezi i-au facut în domenii cum ar fi fisiunea nucleară, datele biometrice, şi chiar in teleportare.
Telegrame confidenţiale diplomatice trimise de Ambasada americana din Beijing la Washington în luna februarie sugerează ca China estein plin progres stiintific si isi extinde agresiv resursele în domeniul energiei nucleare, avand planuri de a deschide cel puţin 70 de centrale nucleare în următorii zece ani. Mai interesant, Academia Chineza de Stiinte (CAS) are o finanţare a cercetării în Institutul de Fizica plasmei (IPP) pentru a desfăşura activităţi de cercetare de varf în fuziunea nucleară.
China a luat, deja, un avans important in fata statelor occidentale si a SUA, in ceea ce priveste investitiile in infrastructura si tehnologii futuriste.
Pana in prezent, nu se stia, cu exactitate, nivelul la care au ajuns chinezii in aceste domenii de maxima importanta. Astazi, dupa publicarea pe Wikileaks a documentelor care privesc China, o intreaga lume afla cu stupoare ca ea a facut pasi importanti in domenii precum fisiunea nucleara, biometrie si chiar teleportarea fizica!
Conform unei telegrame secrete, Academia Chineza de Stiinte dispune de fonduri nelimitate pentru sustinerea cercetarilor de la Institutul de Fizica al Plasmei,care este angajat in cercetari fara precedent in privinta fuziunii nucleare.
Se pare ca, China lucreaza la un nou reactor, intitulat Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak. In acest reactor, savantii chinezi spera sa obtina o fuziune nucleara controlata care sa mentina nedefinit o temperatura extrema.
In anul 2009, cercetatorii chinezi au reusit sa mentina o reactie nucleara care atinsese temperatura de 18 milioane grade Celsius, pana la 400 de secunde, dupa ce anterior mentinusera, timp de 60 de seunde, o reactie nucleara de 180 milioane grade Celsius.
Pe parcursul acestui an, chinezii si-au propus sa obtina temperatura de 180 milioane grade Celsius, mentinuta timp de 400 secunde; spre disperarea lor, serviciile secrete americane nu au reusit sa afle daca asiaticii au reusit acesta performanta, conform documentelor publicate de Wikileaks.
China face pasi uriasi si spre celebrele operatiuni de teleportare: conform unui oficial al Universitatii de Stiinte si Tehnologii din orasul Hefei, savantii chinezi ar fi reusit teleportarea cu succes a unei singure particule quantum, iar in prezent lucreaza la teleportarea a doua particule.

Wikileaked Cables from Beijing Reveal China’s Pursuit of Fusion Power, Teleportation

It’s no secret that China is beating up on America and the West in everything from infrastructure to technology investment, but news of exactly what the People’s Republic is up to is often scarce.
So while the diplomatic establishment continues to reel from the stink of its own dirty laundry in last week’s Wikileaks document dump, cables coming from the American Embassy in Beijing are also shedding light on the strides Chinese scientists are making in far-out fields like nuclear fission, biometrics, and even quantum teleportation.
One confidential diplomatic cable sent from the Beijing Embassy to Washington in February suggests China is doing big things at the small scale.
For one, China is aggressively expanding its nuclear energy resources, with plans to open at least 70 nuclear plants in the next decade. More interestingly, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is pouring research funding into its Institute of Plasma Physics (IPP) to conduct ongoing research into nuclear fusion.
Apparently China has been hard at work on its Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) reactor, which is designed to sustain a controlled fusion reaction that can go on indefinitely at high temperatures. In 2009, researchers apparently sustained a 18-million-degree reaction for 400 seconds, and a 180-million-degree reaction for 60 seconds.
Their goal for 2010 was to sustain a 180-million-degree reaction for more than 400 seconds, though it’s unclear if they achieved that. Moreover, IPP is apparently conducting research on hybrid fission-fusion reactors, though details are slim.
Perhaps most interesting: China doubled the IPP budget in 2009 over 2008, and the diplomatic chatter suggests 2010’s budget saw a significant boost as well. Amid choppy economic waters, such funding bumps indicate a real commitment on China’s part to figure out the fusion energy puzzle.
China’s sci-tech ambitions don’t stop there. While the evidence is anecdotal, the embassy seems to think the Chinese are pulling ahead in fields like quantum communications and even teleportation.
To quote one diplomat’s description of a trip to the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei: “A cursory walk through their labs seemed to indicate they had already succeeded in single-particle quantum teleportation and are now trying to conduct dual-particle quantum teleportation.”
Then there’s the Big Brother tech that we’ve come to expect from China. The same cable says the CAS’s Institute of Intelligent Machines (IIM) in Hefei has created a biometric system that identifies individuals through their pace and gait.
“The device measure weight and two-dimensional sheer forces applied by a person’s foot during walking to create a uniquely identifiable biometrics profile,” the cable says, and can be installed covertly in a floor to surreptitiously collect biometric data.

Pentru un observator din exterior, totul ar parea ca si cum persoana a fost „teleportata” prin spatiu printr-o metoda de transportare tipica seriei Star Trek. Conform cercetatorului Martin McCall, „prin manipularea modului in care lumina care ilumineaza un eveniment ajunge la privitor este posibila ascunderea unui fragment temporal. In experimente anterioare, cercetatorii au demonstrat ca luminea poate fi curbata in jurul obiectelor pentru a le face invizibile.
Extrapoland, noul efect de „teleportare” poate fi obtinut nu prin curbarea luminii, ci prin manipularea vitezei la care aceasta calatoreste prin mediul unui material. But one day a ‘spacetime cloak’ could make it possible to ‘hide’ history by editing out passages of time.
The device would speed up and slow down light to give the illusion that events have not happened.
A ‘cloaked’ individual could, for instance, travel from one place to another while appearing to vanish and rematerialise instantaneously in a new location.
Beam me up, Scotty: The new breakthrough could one day mean people could appear to rematerialise in a new location, like in Star Trek.
To an outside observer it would look as if the person had been ‘beamed’ across space by a Star Trek-style matter transporter.
Such a device would also make a mockery of CCTV, disproving the adage that the camera never lies.

A scientifically-savvy thief with access to the technology could open a safe, empty its contents, and make his escape right under the watchful eye of a surveillance camera.
The video footage would show that the safe door was closed all the time. In effect, events in history could be ‘edited out’ so that they never appear to have happened.
It sounds like the stuff of fantasy, but scientists at Imperial College London have proved it could work in theory by adapting standard fibre-optic technology.
As well as being a safe-cracker’s dream, they believe the idea has a wealth of more practical applications in the realms of data processing and computing.
The research is outlined today in the Institute of Physics publication Journal of Optics.
Lead scientist Professor Martin McCall said: ‘We have shown that by manipulating the way the light illuminating an event reaches the viewer, it is possible to hide the passage of time.
‘If you had someone moving along the corridor, it would appear to a distant observer as if they had relocated instantaneously, creating the illusion of a Star Trek transporter. So, theoretically, this person might be able to do something and you wouldn’t notice.’
In previous experiments scientists have shown that light can be curled around objects to make them seem invisible.
The physics is perhaps most easily explained by thinking of the particles of light as cars on a busy road.

Researcher Alberto Favaro said: ‘You want to have a pedestrian crossing without interrupting the traffic, so you slow down the cars that haven’t reached the crossing, while the cars that are at or beyond the crossing get sped up, which creates a gap in the middle for the pedestrian to cross.
‘Meanwhile, an observer down the road would only see a steady stream of traffic.’
Applied to light, the period in which the pedestrian crosses the road would create a moment in which someone could move or carry out a deed undetected.
The ‘invisibility cloak’ technology employs so-called ‘metamaterials’ whose structure allows light rays to be bent or even reversed.
The new research goes a step further by devising a way to conceal events as well as objects.
This is achieved not by bending light, but by manipulating the speed at which light travels through a material medium.
Illuminating light is divided up into an accelerated ‘leading part’ which arrives before an event, and a slowed ‘trailing half’ which lags behind and arrives after the event.
Both the fast and slow rays are joined back together and adjusted to the same speed before being seen by an observer. The result is a concealed passage of time or ‘temporal void’ during which the event is not illuminated and goes unnoticed.
Star Trek fans should also note that the technology only creates the illusion of teletransportationn, with the traveller still having to put in the physical effort to move from A to B.
Graduate student Alberto Favaro, who also worked on the project, said: ‘It is unlike ordinary cloaking devices because it does not attempt to divert light around an object.
‘Instead it pulls apart the light rays in time, as if opening a theatre curtain – creating a temporary corridor through which energy, information and matter can be manipulated or transported undetected.’
Although a spacetime cloaking device may still be far in the future, the scientists have already come up with a proof-in-principle design based on customised fibreoptics that lends itself to computing applications.
Potentially it could make real the strange concept of ‘interrupt-without-interrupt’ signal processing.
During the cloaking operation, processing on a given data channel could be interrupted to divert resources to a priority calculation on a parallel channel.
Yet it would look as if no interruption had taken place, and the original channel had processed the information continuously.
